1.  Access your Article Manager Options

Article Manager options is where you manage all the global options of your articles and categories.  These options are applied to all articles and categories created in your Joomla site if the attribute was not otherwise set in the menu or category.  By default, new menus and categories use the global settings in the Article Manager Options.

• Login to your Joomla 2.5 Administrator backend
• Click on ‘Content’, ‘Article Manager’
• Click on the ‘Options’ button on the top right

2.  Change the Category Order in Shared Options

• In the ‘Article Manager Options’ window, switch to the ‘Shared Options’ tab
• Set the following value:
• Category Order = No Order
• Click on ‘Save & Close’
